Is it OK for kids?

Crowd of circle and square characters reacting in the park while the television plays.

What the game says about itself

The opening warning, in the game's voice, mentions snobbery, rudeness, and mass murder. That is not a joke you can skip past and then find a gentle park. The park starts gentle. The headlines make it cruel. There is a shooting, and there is blood. The cartoon style does not remove those.

Newgrounds, where the author also uploaded it, marks Ages 13+ and mild violence. Steam's port lists graphic violence. I report both labels. They are not a contradiction I need to solve. They are two pages describing a short, nasty cartoon.

What I would actually do

If a child is in the room, I would play it with them or not at all, and I would be ready to stop at the panic. Watching a full playthrough together is the other option. The ending is one path, so you are not hunting a kinder branch. That fact is on endings. The last chyron, Be Scared. Be Angry., is discussed on its page.

The phone app called Viral Cycle uses a different age label because it is a different publisher. See mobile. The argument the satire is making, if you want it in words, is the meaning page.

Post-credits candle scene: televisions with candles, the couple, and crickets.

FAQ

Is it a horror game?

It is a five-minute satire that ends in a shooting. The tone is cartoon and mean, not a survival-horror campaign. The warning on the game itself lists mass murder.

What age do stores use?

Newgrounds prints Ages 13+ and mild violence. The Google Play app by another developer prints Everyone 10+ with fantasy violence and mild blood. Those are different products.

Can a child still sit with it?

Some families play it together and talk about the headlines. I would not hand it over as a cute park toy. The weapon beat is the point.
