Terms of use

Park scene from We Become What We Behold: circles and squares under a tree, with a news chyron on the television.

Two different licenses

We Become What We Behold, the game, is Nicky Case's work. The itch page says public domain, zero rights reserved. The repository README credits PIXI.js and Howler.js as MIT and lists the sound licenses. We host revision ddf8e0d so you can play. We did not rewrite the game.

The articles, headings, and tables on webecomewhatwebehold.xyz are written for this guide. Do not scrape them onto another domain and present them as your reporting. Linking is welcome. Email [email protected] if you want to reuse a passage.

Use of the site

The guide is provided as published research with dates. A fact can go stale. The checked date is the claim. We are not liable for a portal, a phone app, or a Steam guide that changes after that date. Those products have their own operators, named on where to play.

Privacy is privacy. How we decide what to print is the editorial policy. Who we are is about.

Crowd of circle and square characters reacting in the park while the television plays.

FAQ

Can I reuse the game?

The author marked the code under the Unlicense and the art CC0, and described that as public domain. Four sounds are CC BY and need the credits on the sounds page.

Can I copy these articles?

Ask first at [email protected]. The articles are not the game files.

Do you promise the game will load?

No. It needs WebGL. Networks can block it. The itch listing is the fallback.
